Apple Picking

Fall is the time for picking your own apples and other seasonal fruits here in southern Ontario. There are dozens of orchards in our area alone, including the one closer to us, the Fruitland county (the name speaks for itself). The pick-your-own season actually started last September for peaches and now, apples, pears, plums and grapes. Freshly picked apples could last for a month or two as long as you store them in your fruit cellar. There are countless ways of cooking apples, depending on the variety you picked (cooking apples versus table apples). I am very grateful to my “models”  for having their pictures posted here in my blog today.
