No, this is not about the battle between the Red Wings and the Canucks hockey teams! Definitely NOT! It’s about this very popular finger food that evolved from our next door neighbor, city of Buffalo in upstate New York. It’s located south of the Canadian border, about an hour and 15 minutes drive from our place . Year 1964, Buffalo chicken wings was created accidentally by Ms. Teresa Bellissimo in the kitchen of a restaurant in Buffalo, New York named Anchor Bar and Restaurant. This bar resto still exist up to the present time and prides itself as the home of the original Buffalo Chicken Wings. Since then, Buffalo chicken wings smothered like fire throughout North America that, in time, it gotten ingrained in the national food culture of America. They even celebrate National Buffalo Wings Festival every labor day week-end (Sept. 4-5) as a tribute to American ingenuity. Buffalo chicken wings is also popular worldwide. My blogger friend Jorp of Flavours of Iloilo buzz about this dish quite often in his blog and takes my resource opinion seriously (gee! thanks Jorp, it’s an honor). Who would not be as I have been eating Buffalo Chicken Wings (BCW) regularly for almost half of my life! Furthermore, I tasted the original recipe in Buffalo, New York and as a result, we concocted our very own family recipe of the dish. The secret is beautifully summed up this way: FRY+BAKE+SAUCE=Buffalo Chicken Wings! Most people skip the bake part, which regrettably, turns the dish limpy as opposed to crunchy crisp-in-the-outside-moist-and-chewy-in-the-inside texture of fried wings. Be my guest!

Nothing beats home made cooking! Our very own recipe of Buffalo Chicken Wings.
